Weeds & Grubs

Crabgrass

Crabgrass is one of those weeds that stick out like a sore thumb in your yard. They are

Later in the year when the weather gets cold, crabgrass dies and turns into giant brown spots all of your lawn. Crabgrass makes it’s way onto your lawn by growing in thin or bare spots around your yard and crowding out good grass that may be weak. This can be caused by mowing your lawn too short, insect and disease activity or other related problems. Once Crabgrass starts, it’s seeds spread throughout the property creating more places for this weed to pop up.

Broadleaf Weeds

There are a handful of other types of weeds that will creep onto your property. Most commonly, you’ll be seeing broadleaf weeds such as Plantain, Chickweed, Clover, thistle, dandelion, and more. Although most are harmless, they do spread very easily which will not only curb your lawns overall health, but look ungroomed and uninviting.

Lynch offers many different options for weed control including an organic program, natural program, and a traditional program. Call us today for more information!

Grubs

Grubs are found underneath your lawn eating the grass roots. They will kill your lawn in patches and will attract rodents and birds that will cause holes and damage to your already dead grass.

How do you know if you have grubs?

There are a couple indicators that you have grubs – One being that there are big brown spots all of your lawn that you are able to pull up almost like carpet. Grubs feed off the roots of healthy grass which then kill the grass causing it to become extremely dry and turn brown. Another major sign that you have grubs is holes throughout your lawn by crows, skunks, moles, and other animals that feed off of grubs. Before the holes in the ground and the brown, dead grass you can also identify a grub issue if your lawn feels spongey when walked on.

We offer a pre- and post-emergent pesticide application to eradicate these destructive lawn monsters.
